Finally after a few month I can say somethings about this stock agency.  I don't like it! The good thing is the approval rate is high, I get about 78% of my submissions approved. The bad thing is the images do not sell. I have made only 5 dollars with almost 100 images online (over about 6 months). Hmmm...

Hello!

I contribute to BSP for some time now and they are ok. The approval rate is good, mine is about 65%. The comunity is friendly. About the sells... it could be better. I get the minimum payout of 30$ in about 2 months but lately I have noticed a sharp decrese in sales. I hope is just temporary. Good luck with your submission!

I submitted today some images to Bigstockphoto, I hope they'll be approved. I have heard about them but I don't know if this is a good agency or not. But since they were bought by SS, I said, why not give it a try?! So, could anyone tell me please how are sells with Bigstockphoto? How about approvals, are they tough? Thanks!

They say in the press release that BSP will remain a separate entity, so I think if you have account on both agencies they will stay separate. see here:

Yes I have the same problem, many of my images get rejected.

So I see SS has just announced the acquisition of BigStockPhoto. Now I wonder what happens to my images from BigStockPhoto will they be transferred to my SS account or will they remain separate?

Lately I have a lot of photos rejected at Fotolia, they have become much more choosy than before. The quality of the images is good and they are not rejected at other sites. I find this very irritating since my acceptance rate has fallen a lot. Maybe I'll go into vector business, how is the acceptance rate for vectors? Is it any better than photos?

Hi!

I have recently submitted some photos to this agency. They look OK. I have about 20 images online right now, and I will submit more. The aproval time is average, not too long but not too fast either. No sales yet, but I guess is normal, I only have a small number of images that went live just about 2 weeks ago.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Life Magazine has made available a series of photographs featuring Marilyn Monroe, that have never been published before. You can see the images here:

Well, the numbers are up again: 7,110,857 (2.06), which is good. I was afraid people are really deleting their photos from SS.

I looked at the number of images that appears on the homepage of shutterstock.com:

30 May 2009, around 11.00: 7,072,886 stock photos

30 May 2009, around 14.30: 7,071,431 stock photos

30 May 2009, around 20.50: 7,070,877 stock photos

Anyone noticed a pattern here?

I see the online petiton has only 342 signature by now. Are the rest (thousands) of SS photographers ok with this tax thing?

Don't worry, just less tax for you to pay!

I am not happy with this. I ask myself why is Shutterstock the only agency that requires this stupid system of taxation? I really hope other stock sites will not do the same. The thing I find most bothering is that I have to send all this personal information (like passport details, etc) to a different county, to people I don't know... I don't think I will do that.

Shutterstock submitters are not very happy with the new taxation system that the stock agency is trying to implement. To much bureaucracy, useless paperwork, time and money waste or maybe just the right thing?

What do you think?

Hi!

I'm getting less sales in this month than I used to, does anyone notice the same thing? Or is it just me? I hope it is just temporary...
